Privacy Policy

Legesher Inc & Legesher Global Tech Limited · Last updated: April 20, 2026

Introduction

Legesher (“Legesher,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit www.legesher.io and when you use our products and community features.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our website, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Who We Are

Legesher operates globally through two sibling entities:

  • Legesher Inc — a Delaware C-Corporation, United States
  • Legesher Global Tech Limited — registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), United Arab Emirates

These are separate legal entities with a coordinated service relationship. Depending on your region and the service you use, your data may be processed by either entity. The contact address below reaches both.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Newsletter Subscriptions: first name and email address, submitted through our newsletter form and processed by Buttondown. When you submit the form, your IP address is also forwarded (server-side, not from your browser) to Buttondown as part of the subscription payload, which they may use for their own spam prevention and audit logs.
  • Survey Responses: feedback provided through optional surveys we link to. Our surveys are hosted on Google Forms; responses are collected by Google on our behalf under their privacy terms.
  • Email Correspondence: any information you include when emailing us directly (for example, at hello@legesher.com or privacy@legesher.com).

We do not operate user accounts or process payments on www.legesher.io at this time. Product-specific data practices (such as optional telemetry in the VS Code extension) are described in the Our Products section.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, our hosting provider and analytics service may automatically collect:

  • Server logs (from Vercel, our hosting provider): IP addresses, request timestamps, and URLs, as part of normal hosting operations. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • Aggregated analytics (from Vercel Web Analytics): page URL, referrer, country/region-level geolocation, device type, operating system, and browser. Vercel Web Analytics is designed to be privacy-compliant: it does not set cookies, does not use personal identifiers, and cannot reconstruct a browsing session or identify individual visitors.

Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information from third parties when you interact with us through their services (for example, social media platforms listed in our footer). We do not purchase personal information from data brokers.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We do not set cookies

We set zero cookies on your browser, and we do not write to localStorage, sessionStorage, or any other client-side storage. Our analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) and hosting stack are cookieless, and we do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioural profiling. Our newsletter form submits to our own server-side endpoint and never loads third-party scripts in your browser, so Buttondown cannot set cookies through our site either.

Because we set no cookies and use no cookie-based analytics, we do not display a cookie consent banner — none is required under GDPR or the ePrivacy Directive.

Fonts

The website loads the Noto Sans font family from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google may receive your IP address when your browser requests these font files. We are in the process of self-hosting Noto Sans to remove this third-party dependency; until that change ships, you can block Google Fonts at the browser level without affecting site functionality.

Your Cookie Choices

You can control cookies and client-side storage through:

  • Browser settings: most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies and clear local storage.
  • Do Not Track: we honour Do Not Track browser signals where technically feasible. In practice, our analytics stack does not profile visitors regardless.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf:

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request.

Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Data Type Retention Period
Newsletter subscribers Until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days
Survey responses 2 years
Email correspondence 2 years
Aggregated analytics Up to 12 months (per Vercel's defaults)
Server logs 90 days

Our Products

Legesher's product surfaces have their own data practices that are documented in product-specific privacy policies. This company-wide policy applies to everything below in addition to any product-specific terms.

Legesher VS Code Extension

The Legesher VS Code extension processes your source code locally on your machine. We never send your code, file paths, project names, or literal values to our servers or to any third-party service. Optional anonymous telemetry and opt-in ML training feedback are described in detail in the Extension Privacy Policy.

Legesher Documentation (docs.legesher.io)

Our documentation site uses Vercel Web Analytics and self-hosts all fonts. No cookies are set by us, and no consent banner is required under GDPR or ePrivacy regulations. Full details in the documentation privacy page.

Future products

When we launch additional products (for example, a hosted SaaS translation API or paid tiers), this section will be updated and product-specific policies will be linked here.

Community Features

Where we host community surfaces — for example, project showcases, user-contributed translations, or a future "Legesher Home" platform — additional terms may apply. At the time of this policy's last update, those surfaces are in early development. When they launch, content you submit publicly (for example, a showcase project) will be visible to other community members, and we will update this policy to describe the specific data flows involved.

Third-party community platforms we link to (GitHub, Slack, LinkedIn, Instagram) are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
